Invisible braces are a completely new technology; you no longer have to worry about wearing cumbersome, unsightly braces. This is considered the pinnacle of aesthetic orthodontic technology and is trusted and chosen by many customers at Viet Anh Dental Clinic.

Who is invisible braces suitable for?

Invisible braces are considered the pinnacle of aesthetic orthodontic technology.

Invisible braces use separate, transparent aligner trays to apply force to the teeth and jaw, helping them move to the desired position. This method is chosen and desired by many customers because it ensures both aesthetics and quick results. However, the cost of this method is quite high, so it is only suitable for customers with good incomes.

In particular, clear aligner orthodontics is indicated for cases of: misaligned teeth, protruding teeth, underbite, and mild malocclusion.

Is clear aligner orthodontics effective?

Clear aligner orthodontics at Viet Anh Dental Clinic has outstanding advantages.

To assess the effectiveness of clear aligner orthodontics, let’s consider its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

High aesthetic appeal throughout the treatment period.

Easy to remove and reinsert, convenient for eating, making oral hygiene easier and helping to reduce tooth decay and gum inflammation.

The aligners use specialized dental materials, ensuring they are friendly and adaptable to oral health, unlike traditional metal braces which can be cumbersome.

Minimizes impact on cheeks and gums compared to traditional braces.

Suitable for busy patients or those living far from home, as clear aligners reduce the number of visits to the dentist compared to traditional braces.

A major advantage of this method is that patients only need to visit the dentist for check-ups and aligner changes every two weeks. Each time the aligners are changed, the teeth move about 0.25mm from their original position, thus shortening the treatment time by half compared to traditional methods.

Disadvantage:

The cost is significantly higher than traditional braces.

Treatment time may be longer due to the waiting time for the aligners to be manufactured.

Less flexibility compared to traditional braces because the aligners are worn on the entire dental arch, restricting movement and making it more difficult to apply different forces to each tooth.

Less effective in cases of severe misalignment or severe overbite/underbite.

Procedure

Step 1: The doctor will consult, examine, and take X-rays of the craniofacial and jawbone area.

Step 2: After receiving the X-ray results, the doctor will assess the aesthetic level of the teeth, create a treatment plan, and take impressions of the jaw.

Step 3: The patient’s impressions and treatment plan are sent to the aligner manufacturing center for production.

Step 4: Approximately 2-3 weeks are required for the aligners. During this time, the patient will have a follow-up appointment, receive the aligners, and receive instructions on how to use and clean them. During the process of fitting the aligners, attachments will be placed in several locations to prevent the aligners from falling out while wearing them.

Step 5: Patients register for regular check-ups every 1-2 months as directed by the dentist and replace the aligners periodically.

Oral Care During Braces
Even with clear aligners, good oral hygiene is still necessary.

Although this method makes oral hygiene easier, remember to maintain good oral health and visit your dentist regularly:

Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush with moderate pressure.

Use dental floss to remove food stuck between teeth and avoid using a toothbrush as it can cause teeth to shift.

Avoid/limit eating foods that are too hard, too chewy, or easily stick to the gums.

Avoid/limit eating foods that are too hot or too cold.

At Viet Anh Dental Clinic, every patient, whether needing clear aligners or traditional braces, receives a thorough examination and consultation to determine the most suitable treatment plan for their specific dental condition. Detailed instructions on oral care before and after treatment are also provided to ensure the best possible results.
